REVEALED: HOW WIKE, PATIENCE JONATHAN ALLEGEDLY SWINDLED N182BN..

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and the immediate past first lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan have been accused of a multi-billion naira fraud.
The alleged fraudulent activities occurred in the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) under the supervision of Wike at the time he was the minister of state for education.
How Wike, Patience Jonathan Allegedly Swindled N182bn
According to a group operating under the aegis of Nigeria Against Corruption Group (NACG), it was alleged that Wike siphoned billions of naira under the UBEC program when he was in charge of the education ministry.
The statement issued and signed by the group’s national coordinator, Mr Tayo Olusola, revealed that Wike and the former first lady connived to swindle the billions of naira as the pair sought means of generating funds ahead of last election in the state.
“Investigation conducted by us revealed that the Rivers governor and the former first lady, allegedly plundered over N180 billion from the UBEC purse using fronts in the commissions office,” the statement made available to Global Village Extra, a US-based online newspaper, read in part.
Some sources also confirmed that UBEC programs and contracts during the tenure of Chief Wike as the minister, were used as a facade to loot billions of naira for little or no work done.
“But the man who runs the operations on behalf of Wike and directs which account and fund to privilege is Mr. Hama, the so called SA to the executive secretary of UBEC.
“The SA tag is just a camouflage because the man is the defector Executive Secretary of UBEC. The executive secretary, Dr Dikko dares not take any decision or implement anything without clearance from Mr, Hama who is one of Wike’s enforcers at UBEC.
“Any program or project that does not provide an easy avenue for stealing huge sums of money does not get any attention no matter how vital that project may be to the educational system.”
The statement also revealed some fraudulent activities carried out by both Wike and Mrs Jonathan which they reportedly used in stealing billions of naira:
Teachings:
Billions of Naira are stolen each year by arrangement of bogus teaching programs in luxury hotels where little or nothing is achieved but billions of naira are budgeted and wasted as the monies find its way into private pockets. One of such fraudulent teachings schemes that occurred under Mr. Wike is now being investigated by the EFCC.
The investigation involves the top management of UBEC and one of the fronts used in siphoning the money but, was not settled according to plan.
In the said case, over 100 million naira was siphoned from UBEC for a fraudulent teaching program but, all that took place was a jamboree in a five star hotel.
Vocational Schools:
Billions of Naira was budgeted for the building of vocational schools but in most cases not much was done even though huge sums had been disbursed and have vanished under the watchful eyes of Mr. Wike.
Instructional Material Funds:
This is the biggest fraud that has been going on since the Jonathan administration came into office. During Wike’s tenure alone, over 60 billion was on the dubious supply of free text books to students, but, actual amount of books supplied is not more than N5 billion and the books in usable condition out there in the schools are not up to 200 million worth of books.
The free textbooks supply scheme is a perfect cover for high yield frauds because billions of naira is budgeted to address a need that does not exist since parents are already providing these books for their wards.
So nobody is clamoring for the books and nobody complains if they are not delivered. More importantly there is no way of verifying whether the supply was made since there is no standing stock as the books are assumed to be in the hands of the students.
So each year the actual amount committed to supply of textbooks is about 10-15% of the budgeted amount, just for the purpose of launching the scheme in the states, the rest goes into private pockets.
That is why the textbook supply is such a favored project in UBEC because everyone from UBEC headquarters to the SUBEBS are settled while the student and our education system are short-changed.
The involvement of the former first lady and Gov. Nyesom Wike made the textbook contractors untouchable. So while our schools remain empty without proper learning, the yearly pillage of government money goes on.
The group has now called on president Buhari to beam his searchlight on the defaulting pair and empower the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  to investigate and prosecute government officials including former ministers who stole billions of naira during their tenure.

AMBODE CANCELS 2ND LEKKI-EPE TOLL.

The Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said that no tolls will not be collected at the second toll point on the Lekki- Epe Expressway.
Ambode Cancels Second Lekki-Epe Expressway Toll
Ambode disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists at the Banquet Hall of the Lagos House, Ikeja.
The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, on Sunday said his concern was ensuring the completion of the road.
He said: “We must start thinking of the future concerning that road. We said we will have an International Airport in Epe, and an Export Processing Zone in Lekki and a Deep Seaport also in Lekki.
“Should we not start thinking about how we will improve and create a 10-lane road between Ikorodu, Itoikin, Epe and Ijebu Ode so that people can go out from there? There is no point constructing the road, paying tolls and in five years’ time, the road is gone.”
Ambode also said his administration had decided to scale up governance in the state by rearranging the civil service through the realignment of some ministries and agencies.
Adding that once the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, was completed, the community would be opened up for business activities.
“As more means of transportation come on board, the more than 600,000 private car owners and 120,000 motorcycles that are being put on the road in the state on a daily basis will reduce in number.
“We have said this is a government of continuity, but it is continuity with improvement. It is about making life easier for the people. We are receptive to new ideas and that is why we are going to be creative, innovative and thinking out of the box”, he said.
The governor also said his administration is making efforts to grow the tourism potential of the state.
Meanwhile the Lagos chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to probe his predecessor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, wondering when the new governor would stop making promises and start acting.

BUHARI ORDERS ARREST OF BROTHER IN-LAW..READ WHAT HE DID.

President Buhari has reportedly ordered the arrest of  his brother-in-law, Musa Yola, over a fraud allegation.

Alhaji Yola
According to Sahara Reporters, Musa Yola, who is also known as ‘Alhaji Yola’ was ordered to be arrested  for allegedly defrauding an unnamed businessman. Alhaji Yola, who is the immediate younger brother of President Buhari’s wife, was said to have duped the unnamed businessman to the tune of  N300m, promising to give him political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.
According to Sahara Reporters’ source, President Buhari on hearing the issue, called for the immediate arrest of Mr. Yola last Monday, asking that he should be brought to him in handcuffs in the company of the businessman he duped.
The president was said to have questioned the duped businessman, saying he ought to have known that he could not be a part of the fraudulent deal, hence, he should not have allowed his ignorance and stupidity to part with such a significant amount of money. However, the president ordered agents of the State Security Services (SSS) attached to Aso Rock Villa to thoroughly investigate the scam. He also ordered the SSS operatives to ensure that the businessman recovered his money from his brother-in-law.
An SSS source told Sahara Reporters, “Alhaji Yola has refunded the money to the affected businessman.” He added: “Alhaji Yola has been released on bail.”
Yesterday news broke that Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, a former security aide to Patience Jonathan, was shot dead by unknown gunmen.

NORTHERN APC CHEIFTAINS MOVE TO UNDERMINE TINUBU

Northern APC Chieftains Move To Undermine Tinubu

Major cracks are appearing in the All Progressives Congress (APC), as there seems to be a ganging up against the former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by notable northern politicians.
The opposition against Tinubu is spearheaded by the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, the former speaker of the House of Representatives and Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal and the former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso. power blocs in the APC have been in a cold war over the party’s structures, and the election of the president of the Senate and the speaker of the House of Representatives was the last straw.
The APC was formed as a coalition of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and thereafter, a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The CPC came into the merger riding on the popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari without any established structure but they had a large grassroots support. The ACN joined  with established political structures, while the PDP faction joined with an army of supporters and strong political structures, all of which consolidated the APC platform.
In the power equation of the party, the ACN provided the national chairman, national publicity secretary and national legal adviser of the party. Going into government, the CPC has the president, Buhari from the north west, while the ACN has the vice president from the south west.
In the elections in the legislature the leaders of the party attempted to balance the power equation of the party between the various power blocs as well as accommodate all competing interests in the party.
When the party supported the candidacy of Ahmed Lawan of ANPP extraction from the north east for the position of Senate president, as well as Femi Gbajabiamila of the ACN faction from the south west for the House speaker. This was vehemently challenged by the PDP faction in the party who were in support of Senator Bukola Abubakar Saraki from the north central and Honourable Yakubu Dogara from the north east.
The mock election conducted by the APC was seen as the handiwork of Tinubu, who is suspected of controlling the leadership of the party.
The current crisis in the party can also be traced to preparations for the 2019 general elections. The power tussle is meant to ‘reform’ the APC which some of the northern big wigs of the party still see as a Yoruba dominated party.
Atiku Abubakar is leading some former and incumbent governors in the north, who include the former governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto state, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state, Tambuwal, Kwankwaso, the former governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, to wage the new battle in the party.
They were said to have agreed among themselves to cut Tinubu down to size in order to secure the party for both President Buhari and other party leaders.
A source revealed to National Daily that the leaders were consulted by some northern leaders who complained that they cannot trust Tinubu.
The northern leaders also believe that President Buhari may not contest in the 2019 election as there are rumours that he has purportedly signed an agreement with the party to have just one shot at the presidency.
The feeling among the leaders is that Tinubu strategically placed the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, to take over from Buhari in 2019. Osinbajo was the attorney general of Lagos state under Tinubu.
Atiku, Tambuwal and Kwankwaso are all said to be eyeing the presidency in 2019, which is why they are all undermining Tinubu’s influence in the party.
Meanwhile, Tinubu has ordered Saraki and Dogara to apologise to him via newspapers in order to pacify him.

BUHARI, EZEKWESILI MEETS OVER CHIBOK GIRLS.

Ezekwesili, Buhari Meet Over Chibok Girls

Dr Oby Ezekwesili, a former Education Minister and Co-coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign Movement is set to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over the missing Chibok girls.
The Coordinator of the BBOG told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that the group sought audience with President Buhari regarding the fate of the girls and ways to rescue them successfully.
Ezekwesili said that the group was not relenting on the girls.

She said: ”We have written to request for a meeting with the President as we did on several occasions with the previous government.
”The meeting shall enable us to express our deep anxieties at the failure of the Federal Government to rescue our 219 Chibok girls.
”We shall also use the meeting to understand and contribute to the strategy for countering terrorism, ensuring post-insurgency recovery and other related issues.
”We have formally written on behalf of the BringBackOurGirls movement in Abuja, nationwide, and all over the world to the President and sought to meet with him.
”We now await official confirmation and schedule for the meeting from the President; 276 Chibok schoolgirls abducted, 57 escaped, 219 still missing, zero rescued and we are not giving up on them.”
The female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State on the night of April 15, 2014. The Boko Haram sect claimed responsibility for the kidnap of the girls.
