On Wednesday 29/08/18, the students of the university of benin came out en-mass to exercise their franchise in the annual SUG elections, and candidate Charles idehen of management science emerged as the new student leader alongside two time contender chikamso glory his vice.

Students from various faculties voted across designated polling centres on campus, and about 8pm, the results were announced with charles emerging president, the election was said to be a free and fair one.
The new new administration has been advised to actively protect the interest of the students, as the previous admimistration was put under the heels by the school authority, they have been asked to rule with wisdom and fearlessness.
