OLISEH:MIKEL SNUBBED ME, I HAD TO DROP HIM FROM EAGLES LIST.

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has revealed why Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was dropped out of the squad for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, August 20, Oliseh shockingly said that he was snubbed by Mikel during his recent trip to England which prompted him to drop the Chelsea star from the squad to face Tanzania.
According to Oliseh, attempt to reach out to Mikel before the Community Shield game against Arsenal were declined by the 28-year-old.
He said: “I met with the players when I went to England on Thursday, the day Chelsea was coming back from a tour before they played Arsenal in the Community Shield.
“I put a call through to John Obi Mikel. I called him four times, the phone kept ringing. I sent him a text message, I got no response. I called [Victor] Moses, the phone rang three times.
“And I spoke with [Moses], I told him to concentrate on his game and after the game he came to my hotel room we spoke and I made him understand that my priority is building a new team and everybody is starting from zero and I needed to see players playing.
“From there I [made] a trip to Liverpool there is no secret anymore, you all know about it [meeting with Jordan Ibe] everybody knows. I spoke with other players and their parents and I never got a call back from Obi Mikel until I travelled back home. But just yesterday I saw a missed call on my phone so at the moment I don’t know what the situation is now.
“For me everybody is the same and every player we call answers. To us it’s not up to me but I want to clear one thing if anybody wants to play for the Super Eagles we will all be treated the same way.
“I even told the players playing at home that home based player for me doesn’t exist, if you are a better player in Nigeria we will play you. The thing is that I have not spoken to him and I made efforts but no response, so I don’t know what to do. You people should tell me what to do, I don’t know.”

The fast-rising comedian, Akpororo, who just bagged millions from the Telecommunications giant Airtel, is set to join his married colleagues in the industry.
Akpororo and girlfriend Josephine
The comedian cum singer on Sunday, August 1, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Josephine, during a church service.
A close friend of the comedian, who narrated the proposal story, disclosed that Akpororo and his girlfriend attend the same church, Ultimate Power Ministry.
“The life changing anointing service did not come to an end without entertainment infused in between as some of house of the finest comedians trilled the congregation with unending laughter! The comedians at the service include, Shortfamily, Laffdoctor, Wiseone and Ovie (The generous). Akpororo was not left out as he cracked jokes and also performed four of his songs from his album. His joy knew no bound as he sang and danced as never before, nobody knew what his plans was.
However, somewhere in the middle of the whole activities, the comedian was no-where to be found. Just as the pastor was rounding off the closing prayer, four children walked up to the altar with each of them carrying a cardboard paper, and when they got to the middle, they all turned to face the congregation as they open the cardboard paper with “WILL YOU MARY ME” boldly written on it. The whole church thought it was a joke; still, Akpororo was no-where around. At that point, the Bishop in-charge of Ultimate Power Ministry, Bishop Isreal Mathew, walked up and said, “One of my sons is asking someone here this question”.
Just then, AKPORORO walked up to the altar and knelt down in front of Jossy or Josephine (the only light skinned lady among the Explicit Dance Crew) and popped the one million dollar question, “Will you marry me”? with tears and smile of joy, Josephine said, “YES!”
However, all efforts to speak to the comedian Akpororo proved abortive

The head of the Information Unit of the university, Olagoke Oke, who spoke with a Punch reporter said Dr Baruwa is not on the university’s employee list whether teaching or non-teaching.
“The said Dr. Baruwa is a not a member of staff of the university, whether teaching or non-teaching. He also does not belong to the part-time or full-time teaching staff of the school. His name is not on the master list of workers of the university. I have checked the staff list using his full name and initials and could not come up with any such name as of Friday, August 6, 2015,” he said.
“I have also checked the list of office accommodation given to members of staff of the university and his name is not there. There is no office allocation attached to such a name. How he reportedly entered the said office where the crime took place is what we are looking into as an institution.
“While we sympathise with the alleged victim, we are ready to cooperate with every agency of government to get to the root of the matter as soon as possible. As an institution, we do not support any act of violence, not even against women. Therefore, we will help to ensure that the case comes to a logical conclusion.”
The newspaper also quoted some students in the Faculty of Business Administration who claimed that the suspect was a part-time lecturer of the accounting department of the university.
“I know him as a part-time lecturer in the accounting department. I wonder what the university wants to achieve now by trying to disown him,” one student said.
Baruwa allegedly raped the young girl, who was seeking admission to the university, in his office on July 23, 2015 and is currently in detention at the Kirikiri Prison.
He was arraigned before Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on Thursday.
