He made the remark while receiving the PDP campaign report from its Director General, Ahmadu Ali at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Stressing that PDP is the dominant party despite the loss of the Presidential election, he said that the party will remain strong in subsequent elections if members are committed and hard working.
The Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih noted that the party did not win the presidential election but won peace for the country.
He said: “We didn’t win the elections but we have a leader who made us to win peace. Without peace there cannot be development.”
“There is a lot to be done. We need a very strong and vibrant party to be put in place now. I believe we are on the right path. Let us put behind us those who have betrayed the party and move forward.”
The Chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu was conspicuously absent at the event.

Teju Babyface's Wife Robbed On Eko Bridge

Comedian, Talk Show host and TV producer Teju Babyface’s wife, Tobi Oyelakin, was on her way to the mainland at about 8 pm last night when her car was attacked by hoodlums on Eko Bridge.

At the time of the accident the woman was in the car with her driver and 3 other girls in the back seat. They were approaching the National Theater area of the Eko bridge when encountered some traffic. They had barely come to a stop when 4 boys jumped out of the shadows, shattered the windows on both sides of the car and proceeded to rough-handle the ladies sitting in the back seat and collect all valuables.

The hoodlums opened all the bags and poured the contents into nylon bags they brought along. This was in the presence of all other motorists on the bridge. The robbery went on for well over 2 minutes from start to finish.

When hoodlums had finished and disappeared into the shadows, the occupants of the car were able to drive away.

Further down the bridge they saw policemen on patrol and reported to them that they had been robbed. The policemen in their turn empathized (or sympathized) with them by saying ‘ah, those boys have started again’.
Commenting on the incident, Teju said:
“One realizes that this is becoming almost commonplace and acceptable in Lagos as reports reaching us indicate that it happens daily. That may very well be an axiom but I share this with you to bring attention to what threatens to become endemic. A great contretemps I must confess.”
Luckily, no one sustained serious injuries in the attack and Teju’s wife is fine but very upset and shocked.

Missing $20 billion: I Didn't Appoint PriceWaterHouseCoopers - Okonjo Iweala

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has today denied appointing world renowned audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers to audit the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over the alleged missing $20 billion oil money.
This was revealed through a statement released by the Special Adviser to the Minister, Paul Nwabuikwu, Thursday.

The statement was in response to a law suit filed by a group of three accounting firms before a Lagos High Court, saying Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala violated the local content law by appointing PwC.
“The group is alleging that she appointed the global audit firm PWC to conduct the recently concluded forensic audit of the NNPC against the provisions of the Local Content Act,” he said.
Okonjo-Iweala had been one of the main role players in 2014 when the FG tried to deny the allegations of corruption by then Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Bank, Lamido Sanusi, that $20 billion oil money had been stolen.
She then tried to reconcile the accounts at a Senate hearing which failed, then she announced that an independent forensic audit would be conducted.
The Federal Government then announced the appointment of PriceWatersHouseCoopers to handle the delicate issue.
PwC report had demanded that NNPC refund $1.48billion to the federal government coffers but they failed to vouch for the content and overall quality of their work.

The issue of the report had been put on a fast track after President-elect Muhammadu Buhari threatened to look into the matter when he assumes office.
The President-Elect, who spoke in the local Hausa language, expressed surprise that instead of probing the allegations by the former CBN governor, the authorities chose to fire him.

PDP Governors Imposes Pressure On Mu’azu To Resign

Following the denial of Dr. Adamu Mu’azu of being walked out of a meeting meant for governors of Peoples Democratic Party. Their seems to be a twist as the governors have asked the National Chairman,  and other members of the party’s National Working Committee to resign.
PDP Governors Imposes Pressure On Mu’azu To Resign
According to Punch, the governors were said to have done so during their meeting at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja on Tuesday.
Mu’azu, the   PDP Deputy National Chairman,   Uche Secondus; and the National Legal Adviser,   Victor Kwon, were said to be present at the meeting summoned by Governor Godswill Akpabio,   who is the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
Investigations made in Abuja on Wednesday showed that the governors accused Mu’azu and the other members of the NWC of working against the party during the general elections.
Apart from being defeated in the presidential election, the ruling party also lost majority of the states in the north which was hitherto known to be its base.
The majority of the states are now under the control of the All Progressives Congress.
Mua’zu, according to one of the governors, was shocked when he was accused   of working against the party’s interest during the elections.
The governor said they told Mu’azu that he should resign with members of the NWC and allow a new set of people to pilot the affairs of the party.
Another governor   said that Mu’azu was told that the best thing for him to do was   to quit honourably since   he led the party to a disastrous outing.
He said, “We told him to resign and go with members of the NWC that he’s leading. That is the general opinion of the governors and we told him.
“We said that having led the party to this level which is historical because we have never been this defeated since the party was formed, the honourable thing was for him to leave.
“That is what is expected of him; that is what is done in all advanced democracies.”
The governor, who is from the North,   added that there was no way the chairman and members of the NWC would continue “to force themselves on the displeased party members.”
Another governor from the South, who was also at the meeting, said they had a feeling that Mu’azu was   planning to run for the office of the President in 2019 on the platform of the APC.
He said this was the reason why they believed that he did not care about the party and therefore was ready to destroy it before leaving.
The governor added that the body language of the chairman during the meeting didn’t indicate that he would leave.
He said, “His body language did not show a man who’s ready to leave. But either he likes it or not, his predecessor, Bamanga Tukur, tried to stay on, when the time came, he left.
“Everything that has a beginning will definitely have an end. You cannot be a party chairman when the members are saying you should leave.
“Our (governors) opinion   is that he should leave. But if he refuses to resign, some of us won’t attend any meeting called by him.
“They call him ‘game changer’ but   succeeded in changing the fortune of our party for the worse. We won’t agree with that.”
But Mu’azu’s Chief Press Secretary,   Tony Amadi, and the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, said it was wrong for any governor to blame the party’s poor performance on the NWC members.
Amadi said that everyone would have to share from the blame, adding that not all the governors were able to deliver their states during the elections.
He said, “Did all the governors deliver their states during the elections? I am sure you know the number of states that we lost during the elections.
“Did Mu’azu come to their states and make them to lose the elections? Everybody has his own share of the blame, including the President.
“The party lost an election and everybody is looking for a way to avoid blame. That is bad. But it is not true that he was bundled out of the meeting.”
Also,   Metuh said the actions of the governors contributed largely to the party’s poor performance.
He said, “We were not the ones who handled the campaigns and we were not part of the elections. Did the NWC members stand for any election?
“The governors are the ones who are running the party in their states as the party is just a department of the government.”
Metuh alleged that   every effort made to instil   discipline in many of the party members   failed because of the actions of some of the governors.
Metuh also said he was happy to learn that the APC had overruled the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on the ban   placed on AIT from covering his activities.
“Could we have done that? If we did, they would be asking the NWC members to resign. We need to learn from this. That is what is called party discipline,” he added.
It was however learnt on Wednesday that the NWC had called for a hearing on the cause   of the party’s poor outing at the elections .
An NWC member said they believed that governors who arm-twisted them to get whatever they wanted caused the problems of the party.
He added that except for Ebonyi State, all the PDP governors got the candidates they wanted as their successors.
Indications have also emerged that Mu’azu is expected to be replaced by an outgoing governor from the Southsouth region of the country, which could occur on or before May 29

“To build a family you need sacrifice. So for those who have the privileges of leading at local, state and national levels, at all times we should be ready to make sacrifice for our nation to grow.”
