‘Our Mind Is Made Up And We Love APC ‘ - Igbo Group
The leaders of Igbo Town Unions and markets in Lagos State met with the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday April 7th where they reassured him and APC of their support in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
This was after the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu openly threatened the Igbo leaders and their kinsmen saying he would make life miserable for them if they sabotage efforts being made to ensure that the governorship candidate of APC, Akinwunmi Ambode, is elected as the next governor of state.
Shortly after the Oba made this hate speech, Ambode said he will not discriminate against any tribe if he is voted into office.
He said, “Every group in Lagos is safe in my hands as governor. I will not discriminate against any religious or ethnic group. It is our Lagos and we must build it together.”
Meanwhile the Igbo groups in Lagos State have collectively endorsed the candidacy of, Akinwunmi Ambode for this Saturday’s governorship election.
Their position was communicated at a press conference in Festac, Lagos, on Tuesday, April 7.
At the event, the Eze Ndigbo of Lagos, Chief Christian Nwachukwu, and other Igbo groups implored on all Igbo in Lagos State to vote for Ambode on Saturday.
“We endorse Ambode as governor of Lagos State. Our being here is to assure our sons and daughters and ask them to vote for Ambode en masse. You have been doing it since 1999 and this time will not be an exception. We have maintained this relationship for many years and we must ensure that it continues.”
“We are not here to talk about rights and wrongs, but politics and businesses. We will do our best to vote for Ambode. Our mind is made up and we love APC government and we have agreed to vote for the APC massively on Saturday.”

Following the uproar caused by the comments of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, some of the Igbos in Lagos State in reaction to the threat, have dared not to vote for Ambode in the forthcoming Saturday election, daring Akiolu to go ahead with his threat
