Fresh details have emerged following the death of former Vice-chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo, Professor Albert Ilemobade.
In a report on The Nation, the two domestic staff who were arrested in connection to Prof. Ilemobade’s murder have confessed their sins.
The suspects who were the deceased’s gateman, Daniel Ita from Cross Rivers state and driver, Olayemi Bamitale from Ekiti state respectively, were paraded by men of the Ondo state police command in Akure on Monday, June 29.
Speaking with newsmen, the suspects narrated how they allegedly strangled their boss to death over their selfish desire to have his Jeep.

Killers of the Late Professor Albert Ilemobade
The duo who were arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command before they were transferred to Ondo State had witnesses traumatized as they narrated how they killed the late professor.
Bamitale (driver), a 36-year-old man was reportedly sacked by late Ilemobade before the Easter celebration in April when he allegedly took away for four days, a Toyota RAV4 Jeep, belonging to the late professor.
He later returned the car when he could not get a buyer for it but was reportedly detained in police net before sympathizers appealed to the deceased to allow his bail.
It was gathered that despite Bamitala’s sack by his employer, the suspect maintained contact with the deceased’s security guard on how they will steal the car again.
Narrating his evil deed, Bamitale said the late vice chancellor was very nice to him, adding that Ita the driver pushed him to commit the dastardly act.
He said Ita contacted him one day and told him that he has contacted his herbalist on how to steal the car without leading to any trouble.
He said: “After he told me about his herbalist on phone, Ita asked me come to the house at Ijapo estate on Sunday by 9pm. When I got to the place, he told me that he had met his herbalist who told him that if we want to take that car, we must ensure we killed Baba and that he must take away some sand from that house so that there won’t be any problem after we might have killed him.
“When I asked him that how are we going to call the Prof. who is already sleeping outside. Ita said he would lure Baba to the security room that there is a power surge and from there we will strangle him to death. And from there we will be able to come into his room and take whatever we want since mama, who is the wife of the deceased is in another room and she won’t  hear any sound.”
“Immediately Baba came out I grabbed him and strangled him to death. Daniel’s role was to put a piece of cloth in his mouth to stop him from shouting.
“After some few minutes, the old man gave up and we dragged him into the generator house and locked him inside the store that Sunday night. We left the house and locked the gate outside so that no one will suspect us.
“We went inside and took the car key and some other items like IPad, two phones, laptop, two bags and seven thousand Naira which we used to fuel the car.
“We left Akure and headed to Lagos. We left with those items so that the car will not be tracked again because Baba used these gadgets to activate the tracking.”
He further explained that although they encountered some policemen at the main entrance of the Ijapo Estate, Ita was duly recognized as Ilemobade’s security man and were let go.
He said they encountered another challenge when men of the Federal Road Safety Corps detained the vehicle for invalid vehicle particulars at Ijebu-Ode and had to sell the phones and IPad in order to pay for the release of the vehicle.
“We sold off the phones and laptops after being booked by the Road Safety officials. We sold the phones to retrieve the car from them before heading to Ijebu Ode with the hope of selling the car there,” Bamitale said.
But Ita denied that he was the architect of the killing, blaming Bamitale for luring him to the “evil” business.
Professor Albert Ilemobade was abducted by unknown gunmen last Sunday before his decomposed body was found in an isolated store in his house.
