BUHARI IMPOSES DRESS CODE FOR JOURNALIST COVERING HIM

Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, might oblige reporters covering activities at Aso Villa in Abuja to follow a strict dress code.
There are fears that the rule might be implemented after Buhari’s inauguration, which is to be held on May 29.
Nigerian Times exclusively obtained from some reporters that the president-elect’s media aides had complained about the dress of female journalists covering him.
A correspondent, who asked for anonymity, disclosed that Buhari’s aides warned her and her colleagues that they would not tolerate “anyhow dressing” by female journalists.
“He said the General would not tolerate indecent dressing.
“I don’t know what constitutes indecent dressing. I was well dressed as far as I am concerned. I wore a trouser and a nice top and my cleavages were not exposed.
“They probably were not comfortable with a woman wearing trousers or the fact that I didn’t cover my hair. But I’m not a Muslim and we didn’t experience such issues working with the current President.”
Despite the fact that Buhari insisted he was a converted democrat, some said that the former military head of state would return to dictatorship after gaining power.
