Jonathan Reveals Secrets Behind Military’s Success Against Insurgency
As the Nigerian military continues to record resounding victories over terrorist group, Boko Haram, President Goodluck Jonathan, has disclosed the secrets behind the success against insurgency.
Speaking on Thursday at the induction of Batch “A” corps members deployed in Rivers state, the president declared that Nigeria had made remarkable progress in her fight against insurgency and terrorism, Punch reports.
Jonathan, who expressed delight in the performance of the military in the on-going battle against Boko Haram, said the military have continued to display a high level of patriotism.
“Through the patriotic and courageous efforts of our armed forces, combined with the right equipment and strategy, we have made remarkable progress in the fight against insurgency and we will not relent, until all parts of the country are safer for our people and for national service”.
He promised that the Federal Government would not surrender until Nigeria was safe from insurgency, expressing confidence that the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), would sustain the support given to corps members in order to achieve the objectives of the scheme
“I believe the next government will continue to support and encourage corps members by fulfilling its statutory obligations to the scheme and providing a peaceful atmosphere for optimal performance of corps members wherever they are”, he said.
Nearly 700 women have been freed over the past week by the Nigerian army in the hands of terrorist group, Boko Haram. It was also gathered that the terrorists had been complaining to their captives about lack of weapons and ammunition
