Co-Pilot Allegedly Deliberately Caused Plane Crash
The investigation into the crash of the Germanwings plane in the French Alps which killed all the 150 people aboard, has revealed that the co-pilot of the crashed plane might have deliberately caused the tragedy.
Brice Robin, the French prosecutor, made the announcement based on the data obtained from the plane’s cockpit voice recorder, recovered at the accident site.
The prosecutor said that the aircraft co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, a 28-year-old German national, locked the captain out of the cockpit after he was left alone there, and seemingly deliberately began the descent which resulted in the crash ten minutes later.
Passengers of the Flight 9525 were heard screaming just before the crash, while Lubitz was reportedly silent throughout the plane’s descent. On the recording the captain could be heard making repeated requests to the co-pilot to open the door
