Graphic Image: Unilag Student Murdered
Reports just reaching us from University of Lagos reveal that a yet to be identified young man believed to be a student of the institution was killed in the early hours of this morning.
Eyewitnesses, who heard the gun shot, told YNaija correspondent that the tragic incident happened at about 12.00am.
The untimely death of the alleged student is believed to be linked to the unending supremacy tussle between cult groups at the institution as some students think the murder was a result of a cult clash.
The lifeless body of the yet to be identified student was seen sprawled on the floor and covered in his own pool of blood.
However, it could not be ascertained as at press time if the victim was indeed a student of the tertiary institution or if the murder was indeed related to cult clash.
Cultism, a very big evil of our time has cut short several promising lives, especially that of youths which is mostly made up of students and now touts. Confraternity used to be a school thing before now but for the greed of some leaders, it was introduced to politicians, park workers, drivers, conductors and other touts who are seeking power and protection from their perceived enemies.
Just yesterday, Ten students of the Ibadan Polytechnic were arrested by Oyo police on suspicion of performing cultist actions, while earlier this year no fewer than 12 people were killed in a war between two rival cult groups in Delta state
